The name goes back to the early years of Tuborg beer. The guy who originally built the building where you could get Tuborg beer was called Jonas Thues. Locals would call the location "Thues Borg" as a joke, which means "Thues castle". So there you have it: Thues Borg, shortened to “Tuborg”. So that’s where that funny sounding name comes from.
